I bought this lip tint from Memebox for $9.00 (use this link for 20% your first purchase). It is by the brand Berrisom in the color Bubble Pink. Products like this are also known as lip tattoos. It is a peel-off stain, similar to a peel-off face mask in many ways (apply, wait 20 minutes for it to dry, and when you peel it off reveal pink lips!) See the video at the bottom of this post to see me applying it. Or use this link if you like listening more than reading.
So this is what it looks like when you first apply it. Initially, it is very intense and shiny, but it does not stay that way. While it's drying it's pretty sticky, and it can become slightly uncomfortable because as it dries, it tightens. Try to get an even layer if you can, I found, through trial and error, that if you let it goop up at the bottom of your lip, you'll get deeper color in that area that's different from the rest of your lip (mmm, attractive goop patch).
You have to apply it kind of quickly, so parts aren't already tacky when you're still applying new product. It is also a pretty thick product (like that candy that came in a tube when we were kids). When I was watching others apply it online, it seemed impossible; however, it was actually a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.
You'll want to keep your lips apart as much as possible. Closing your lips won't be detrimental to your lip staining endeavors; however, if you have made a habit of smacking your lips together after applying a lip product like I have, then you definitely will have an issue. Once this stuff starts drying, it does not like to be moved. You've been warned.
Here's the final product. As you can see, even if you don't apply it perfectly, the final product is very forgiving when it comes to mistakes, much more forgiving than some of my regular lipsticks, and this actually did stay a good 8-12 hours! (8 hours it was basically perfect, the last few hours, I just had a funny looking line of stain on my mouth, as you can see above.)
Here's a picture of that weird line you get after several hours as it begins to wear off.
Verdict: I love this product. It stings a little on my ridiculously dry lips, and it doesn't taste too great. But for someone who is terrible at reapplying lip products, a stain is so perfect, and this process is a little addicting to be honest!
