Popsugar Must Have recently came out with their first miniature box to compete with midrange subscriptions like HammockPack and GlossyBox. I tried to resist but ultimately hopped on the bandwagon in hopes of their first box being spectacular. If you're interested in subscribing to this box, it costs $18.95, and you will receive two full size products with a promised retail value of over $30. However, the next box is the July box.
Greenmarket Purveying Co. White Melon Pantry Candle 7 oz retail value $16 This candle smells amazing. It is small, but powerful, and I think it smells just like a melon candy. They also included a 25% off coupon so you can buy a second candle if you feel so inclined.
Farmacy Lip Bloom0.25 oz retail value $16.50 I received the Strawberry basil scent (or flavor?). It also reminds me of candy. This was a very sweet and young smelling box for sure. I'm not sure if I would pay $16.50 for such a tiny amount of lip balm, but it is made in the U.S., so I suppose you get what you pay for.
The lip bloom came in a green box that folded out to a nice info card. I like when companies are savvy and don't waste paper on an additional instruction pamphlet. :)
Verdict: The retail value of this box was exactly as promised, $32.50, although I'm not sure if I would ever pay $32.50 for these products on their own. Quite honestly I like the $3 candles from the dollar spot at Target, and the travel size Aquaphor ($1.50), so this box wasn't a hit for me in terms of value, but these are really nice products, and I'm sure they'd make good gifts. I'm going to keep mine, because I don't know if the value of these items comes across in a gift, and I already watched the balm on my lips! I think Popsugar played it safe this month. I'm going to give it a couple more months to see if the value or intrigue goes up at all. For me, I think I'd rather take $18.95 to the Target Dollar Spot. I could get 2 candles, 2 reed diffusers, 2 succulents and still have change to spare. ;)
